We travel to Lake Thingvallavatn where we bicycle trough Iceland's first national park and encircle the lake on a fairly quiet and in parts very quiet secondary road.

A UNESCO world heritage site since 2004.

The site of the ancient Viking-Age parliament est. 930.

Rift valley and meeting place of the American and EuroAsia plates.

The lake is surrounded by volcanic formations, i.e. shield volcanoes, palagonite tuff mountains, lava fields and farmland.
